'Pho'nally

WE MADE IT!!

After 25 intense riding days, 2 lovely rest days, way too many hills and way too less cheese and wine I'm back in Saigon. It's strange not to be on the road anymore and I think I'll go for a ride this weekend. My total Pho count has come to 23 or 24. I'll upload the camera ones here for now and will find a way to get the Ipad ones online as well.

Oh and FYI, I had my first pho back in Saigon today. I think I was actually starting to miss it. Nah!!

No 'Pho'tos

Hi there,

You probably wonder why there haven't been any blog posts after day 7. Somehow my IPad photo uploaded app has died and I haven't been able to get any pictures off this stupid thing since the first week. Please don't think this has kept me away from the salty broth with delicious beef and herbs. The current pho count lies somewhere around 21 or 22. Exact numbers will be shown when back home in 2 days.

I'm very sorry that I can't keep you updated while riding anymore but at least you know why.

Day 7 o'Pho'rlooked the exit and cycled 25km extra

Troi oi, what a day we've had yesterday. It rained nonstop, it was freeeeeeeeeeeeezing cold and on top of it all we missed a left turn and cycled another 25km through the mountains to top of the day with a 110 km. I was not amused at all to say it in the most positive way.

Today however, it was dry so we didn't look like mud wrestlers for a change and the distance was a lot shorter as well. Our hotel is great compared to the freezing moldy rooms from last night and we just had a great scotch culture night to bring the team moral back to where it was. So in short: Han is back in business :)


Below an overview of the pho's I had the past few days as well as some extra scenery stuff.

Day 4: It's 'Pho'reezing here

Day 4: its still very cold at night. We saw our first bit of sun today though so hopefully it will get better soon..

Had 3 bowls of pho in the last 2 days but one is on the camera and can not be uploaded at the moment... Proof will be shown once back!

Day 2 'Pho'filled

Awesome day!! The North is so pretty. As soon as I've got access to place where I can upload pictures from my camera (pho snaps come directly from iPad)I'll show some of it.

Today 2 bowls consumed. Breakfast and dinner. Not sure how long I\'ll last doing this though...

Day 1 'Pho'king cold here

Troi oi, what a extreme cold first day we've had. I'm still in recovery mode as I literally couldn't feel my toes anymore by the end of the day. Lots of stuff went wrong: support vehicles crashes and needed to be replaced, 2 bikes lost their paddles, 2 flat tires (1 mine), lost in the city when trying to find the hotel and just extremely wet all day long. Scenery absolutely stunning though so that's a good thing :)

Had a great bowl of Pho Bo this early morning. Will see if I can score one more for dinner (all for the kids you know)

Pho Ga for the soul

Ok, here we are in Hanoi, it's freezing cold, drizzling with rain, 7.30am and I'm looking for my first bowl of pho. The search took me approximately 3 seconds as the surroundings of our hotel were completely filled with soup places. So Hielke, so far more than enough variety ;). Of course that will change from tomorrow onwards when we hit the road. Hanoi to Hoa Binh is route no1.

Today we filled the rest of the day visiting our charity projects. I'll upload some pics as soon as I can (might be nice to have some variety between all the to follow soup-art)
